Over the past few years, the IRS has made significant improvements to IRS.gov and its online account features. I encourage you to create an IRS online account—or log in if you already have one—to access the many resources now available, including income transcripts, tax return transcripts, options to obtain or generate an identity protection/tax filing PIN, and a variety of other useful tax-related services.
